(...) World here we come!
We are filming ourselves in elevators and imagining the present as the future.
Additionally the work vocabulary is involving shipping, sampling, tracking, skyping and transferring.
We really big B believe in stuff.
From English to Spanish to Dutch to Danish to French to English:
If you are alone in international airspace, you will feel right at home (…)
It is hardly news that globalized space affects the cultural economy, and vice versa. Indeed, although locality and location still matter, our lives are becoming increasingly dominated by movement. Even so, the intensity of these changes has varied from person to person and job to job: while average working norms are still adjusting to these rapidly changing conditions, the creative fields have been quicker to respond and adapt to the increasing possibilities of networks, collaborations and flexibility.
We’re much excited to invite you to the Amsterdam launch of fanfare inc. coming Friday.
fanfare inc. introduces an ongoing investigation into conditions of nomadic design labour. The series aims to reflect on new nomadic work practices through the lens of corporate culture.
In line with the nomadic focus of the research, each chapter is launched in a new location and context, inviting a new set of designers and peers along. In this process fanfare develops a framework presented online, as a catalogue and as well in a social setting adapting to each temporary offshore location.
First chapter of fanfare inc. is dedicated to transportation and was launched last month at the design biennale in Chaumont. In addition to the first chapter Bonne Suits have been specifically modified by AVOIDSTREET black market and a series of podcast produced in collaboration with Charlie Clemoes.
